Silver Sneakers Fitness Program

SilverSneakers offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming that allows older adults to take greater control of their health. We have group exercise classes that are appropriate for older adults who are fit and active as well as those who are sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, entering post-rehabilitation programs and ALL those who enjoy a positive, upbeat social environment.

Aerobics

Aerobics classes are available free to Stroud's members (unless otherwise noted). They are taught by Valerie Hinde who has been teaching aerobics for over 10 years.

Low Impact Aerobics
With an emphasis on the upper body with weights, alternating with bench.
Good for intermediate to advanced.
Interval Training
With an emphasis on the lower body, Step and Floor work.
Good to beginners to advanced. Work at your own pace.
Sculpting/Body Shaping Aerobics
Upper body workout after a modified step workout with three benches. If you have been doing basic step for a while, this could be a nice change.
Good for intermediate to advanced.
Step Aerobics
High/Low step aerobic class with floor work for lower body.
Goood for beginners to advanced.

Mizu Wa Ki Ju-jitsu

Ju-jitsu is an effective method of self-defense that uses a variety of techniques and tactics to protect oneself or subdue an agressive attacker. Ju-jitsu at Stroud's is taught by David Earnest, who has been teaching Ju-jitsu in the Fort Worth area for over 19 years. He is assisted by Dallas Rainwater and Chris Green.

Ju-jitsu 
Practical, effective defenses against realistic methods of attack. Strikes, kicks, chokes, joint locks, throws, pressure points, ground fighting and weaponry are all found in the ju-jitsu curriculum.
There is a $45 monthly fee for Ju-jitsu courses.
